Some harnesses are for the walk around the block. The Hurtta Weekend Warrior is for the other days: the beach, the bush track, the river, the drive to the bach with a dog who wants to be out of the car before it stops. Hurtta is a Finnish brand that has been making outdoor gear for dogs since 2002, and it shows in the small stuff. The Y front leaves the shoulders free to move, the neck and chest straps adjust independently so you get a proper fit rather than a near enough one, and the whole thing goes on and off with two quick snap buckles.
Against the dog there is 2 mm of neoprene padding under a breathable 3D mesh lining, which spreads the pressure and keeps things cool when your dog is pulling towards something interesting. On top there is a sturdy webbing grab handle for steadying them over a stile, lifting them onto a boulder or holding them back when a cyclist comes past, plus a stainless steel leash ring that will not rust after a swim. 3M reflective piping runs around every edge and there are large reflective prints on the chest and sides, so an early start or a late finish is not a problem. The Desert colour is a warm sand tan with khaki straps and light grey buckles.
This is the 60 to 80 cm size, which suits dogs with a chest measurement of 57 to 80 cm and a neck of 35 to 60 cm, such as Border Collies, Kelpies, Spaniels, Staffies, smaller Labradors and similar. Measure the widest part of the chest just behind the front legs and choose the size where that number sits comfortably inside the range.
Materials: 100 percent polyester outer, 2 mm neoprene padding, 3D mesh lining, wear resistant nylon straps, POM buckles, stainless steel leash ring. Care: hand wash only. Do not bleach, tumble dry, iron or dry clean.

How do I measure my dog for the right size?
Measure the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs, and the neck where a collar would sit. The 60 to 80 cm size fits a chest of 57 to 80 cm and a neck of 35 to 60 cm. If your dog is at the very top or bottom of a range, the adjustable straps will handle it, but if they are outside it, please get in touch and we will help you pick the right one.
Is it good for dogs that pull?
The Weekend Warrior is an everyday and outdoor harness, not a no pull harness. The padded chest plate spreads pressure comfortably if your dog pulls, and the top handle gives you extra control, but it does not have a front clip designed to redirect pulling.
Can I wash it?
Hand wash in cool water with a mild detergent, rinse well and hang to dry away from direct heat. Do not bleach, tumble dry, iron or dry clean. Rinse it with fresh water after salt water swims to keep the straps and buckles in good condition.
How long until my order arrives?
Roughly 12 to 22 business days all up: 1 to 3 days for us to process your order, 8 to 15 days in international transit, then 1 to 6 days with a New Zealand courier depending on whether you're metro or rural. Full detail is in our Shipping Policy.

How do I track my order?
You'll get a tracking number by email within 24 hours of dispatch. Follow it on our Order Tracking page. Tracking often sits still for a week or so while your parcel is in international transit. That's normal.
What is your return policy?

My item arrived faulty or damaged. What now?
Email us photos within 30 days of delivery and we'll replace it or refund you in full, your choice. In most cases you won't need to post anything back.
Can I cancel my order?
Yes, within 24 hours of placing it. Just email our customer service team with your order number. After 24 hours your order has usually gone to our supplier, but you can still return it under our returns policy once it arrives.
